Online Learning Not Ideal for Kids with Disabilities

Thinking about enrolling your child with disabilities in a virtual school?  Think again. Experts have said online learning may not be able to meet all students’ needs well.

 A University of Kansas research center has undertaken a major research project on online learning and has raised major concerns with how well special education can be delivered in a virtual setting.  Principal investigators from the Center on Online Learning and Students with Disabilities have listed teacher training, monitoring, and social and emotional supports among other problematic areas that became evident in the very earliest stages of the research.
